Packing for Paris

I know, I know, I KNOW! Actually I should have already written my list with things that I am going to take with me to Paris, but I still have this empty piece of paper lying in front of me.

What to take to the most incredible, romantic and stylish city in Europe? After all, I am going to represent my own country and city – so I don't want some cheesy skinny French girl (that of course wears a small Chanel 2.55 and Christian Louboutin ankle boots – what else?) to say: "This fille has a very etrange way to dress herself." Bla, bla, baaaaa-haa! Get over yourself.

So beside the fact that I am planning to NOT take my whole wardrobe with me (after all there NEEDS to be enough space for clothes, accessoires and books), here are the Top5 things to bring to Paris – or actually to any other city that you want to explore en vouge.

1. A pair of dark-blue jeans. Dark blue is never wrong. You can wear them with a casual sweater to go shopping or with a white shirt to go out for dinner. Multi-usable items not also save you space in your luggage, but also make you feel comfortable – wherever you are.

2. Because of the weather forcast (cloudy, but not freezing) a trench coat. I always hate to carry around heavy jackets – or even worse – those weird neon-coloured ones. You always look stupid carrying them around and they are always too big to stuff it in your bag. The good thing about the trench is, that you can even wear it if it's not really necessary. You know, those moments when you think 'Hm..okay, it is kinda warm outside, but I am not sure if I should leave without a coat...' A trench is always part of an outfit and even looks good, when you carry it.

3. Simply, flat and black Ballerinas. Yeah. Trust me. I walked through New York City, Rome, Berlin, London and Valencia – always with the same kind of shoes. Flat Ballerinas. Why? You can wear them with your jeans, a skirt or a dress, it always look great and makes sure you can explore the city in style without ruining your feet. Come on. I know, 4-inch-high heels look amazing, but just not when you're on your way from the Collosseum to the Via Condotti.

4. A big shoulder bag. Why? Five letters. S-P-A-C-E. Space, that you don't have to, but can use. Of course you shouldn't stuff your hardcovered French vocabulary and your whole make up bag in your big bag (just think about your shoulders after standing in line to get into the Louvre for two hours!), but just think about the little things you can carry with you without thinking about it. 5. A large scarf to cover you up (in the plance, café, etc.) when necessary. Write me on your list, Marc Jacobs! I fell for yours (and Stephen Sprouse's) leo scarf from day one and I am not ashamed to admit it! It is PERFECT. It is simply, it is large, it is soft and rrraaawwww!

So. That's it. As you can see, you don't need that much to always look great while exploring a different city. And though all these items are from amazing designer, you can totally shop-alikes. Then all of these things are alltime classics, that can be bought by spending very little (H&M), to a bit (ZARA) or even a lot of money (Burberry [Prorsum]). Whatevery way you choose, I know that you will look fab.

Let's go HUNTing

I need to make a confession: I did something, that Kate Moss did first – what I absolutely wouldn't do if it wasn't really necessary. I bought my first pair of HUNTERS, in a lovely and stunning, mood changing red.

I always wanted one of those, especially when there was a festival that I wanted to attend, but I never got in the situation in needing them. Damn those sunny months during summer. So as I saw them for the first time in Vienna, I was pretty excited. Well. Until I saw the price tag. Boots here cost about 120€, so I decided to try them on in the store, get my UK shoe size and order them. So right now I sawed over 30€ by ordering on HUNTER's main page. But you can even save more by ordering via TopShop. Only reason that I didn't do that was because they weren't selling the red ones.

I just think they are the perfect extra on foggy rain days. Come on, everyone can pull off the traditional black or olive green boots, but red definetly lightens up even the cloudiest day. I would simply style it with black tights, a nice dress and my favorite trench coat. Voila. Perfect.

Right now I am not only busy finding my first own appartment and with work, but also with my trip to Paris in two weeks. We're only having about four days, so I really need to plan everything to get everything done and hope to find some really amazing vintage and fine paper shops.

Let the sunshine in...

Well...Fashion-Addicts. Looks like winter has finally come to stay. I know, it's ugly, but we really need to make the best of it. So put your pumps and slingbacks back into their boxes and wish them a nice hibernation - they deserved it.

Instead put your boots on - there are so many different models to choose from:

Daring? Go with high heel over knee leather boots and rock them with a mini or sweater dress and a trench coat. Stella McCartney has amazing boots in her newest collection and lets us wish for more guts to really wear them. Just do, as NIKE says. Just do it.

Comfty? What about nice biker boots to rock the road to work or college? Style it with skinny jeans, tank top and cardigans, scraves other accessoires. I would go with the ones from MIUMIU coz they look super stylish and lets us be a rockstar everytime we put them on.

Keeping it warm? Ever tried on UGG Boots? No? Never? You should. Even my sister, who always disliked them on the feet of celebs, tried them on for fun and later never wanted to take them off. They are great with leggings, together with dresses, long sweaters and a nice warm jacket.

But although we are now walking the streets of the European cities with the complete winter gear, we all need a piece of clothing that always reminds us of the sunny and cloudless days that are behind us.

I found an unbelievable Christopher Kane dress a few weeks ago and now fell head over heels for it's tankdress spin-off.

The Scottish designer is only 27 years old and has it's own line at the British #1 fashion temple, Top Shop. I would love to grab it, style it with black jeans/leggings/tights together with a grey cardigan and some high heel boots. No matter how cold it will get, summer will never leave me.

Yes...I DO!

I have to admit, beside what I am always saying...I am just like every other girl on this planet, dreaming about the big day. The wedding day. Why I am coming up with this topic, right now that wedding season is nearly over? Maybe because of a really good friend that will tie the knot next year...and is one year younger than me...but lets not talk about THAT.

Rather I really would love to talk about the fact that I found my absolute dream wedding gown online. It ist just...perfect. But. I can't describe it. Just see it for yourself.

This - literally - dream was designed by no other than the Queen of Fashion herself, Vivienne Westwood for her Gold Label. It is a big bash of white silk and it even has - and this is such a nice extra - two small pockets aside, just to make sure you can take your lipstick wherever you are going - even down the aisle.

So. I just wanted to share this with you guys. Need to watch some Fashion Week updates.

Guys. Think about all those American movies and TV shows where all these smart kids are running around in shirts or sweaters with HARVARD, YALE, CORNELL or BROWN on the front? Ever wished to have one for your own? Well. That's possible. Just go to Ivy Sport and order the clothes from YOUR personal (dream) college. I really wanna get a YALE shirt as soon as possible. Just to pretend ^^

Favorite Outfit of the Week

I just love this simple and down-to-earth elegance of this outfit. It is so street-likeable and you can wear it to so many different occasions. Out clubbing, in an art gallery, shopping or having a girls lunch. There are so many ways and I will really try to find something like that on my next shopping trip.

WANT of the WEEK

CHANEL launched this limited edition of Rouge Allure just a few weeks ago and I really fear that it is sold out. The are called Maniac, Hysteria and Obscure and I really fell madly in love with Hysteria, the purple in the middle. So, as soon as I am in Vienna I will run through all the shops and try to find them. Wish me luck to find at least one. If I am lucky enough I'll post a pic.

My decision was ... Fatale. Literally.

As I wrote earlier that day, I searched through the city to find the perfect lipstick for the theme party. But then I realized, that it would be better if I buy a lipstick that I would wear more often instead of just this only evening. So I asked for a make up artist in a local make up store for help and I got it. Here is how it looks.

The lipstick is Chanel's Rouge Allure N°71 - Fatale and I absolutley love it. You should have seen me with a lighter color...I looked like a clown. So...just a small hint...if you're looking for a perfect lipstick, go to the store and ask for advice, believe me, you'll be thankful afterwards.

I know, you can't really see the necklace, but I bought it today at MONSOON/Accessorize because I really didn't have any flowers lying around. I think they are camellias, the favorite flowers of Coco Chanel.

Okay...because we are already talking about jewellery...I also found a beautiful necklace in a Lanvin-style...I will mix it with a plain white t-shirt, jeans and high heels. Can't wait.

What to wear at ... Theme parties?

Does this situation sounds familiar? You are invited to a birthday party - okay, nothing special so far - but there is a little note on the invitation, saying: 'The theme of our party is...' or 'Please dress up as...'. So, that's a problem, isn't it? 

I am in the middle of this problem for about one week. Two of my dearest friends (twins) are celebrating their 20ieth brithday with the theme 'Burlesque'. So...I searched the web a little bit and even this isn't my real outfit for the party, it is pretty close. This is what I found on Net-A-Porter.

And finally...I need to add a red-colored lipstick. Haven't bought it yet and also haven't decide if I go for a really Valentino red or a really dark blood red. Typical Burlesque me and my friends will cover our eyes in the darkest eyeshadows and throw some glittering in our hair.

If you are not really the theme-type and you feel unwell dressing up, just pick a small accesoire from the theme. For 'Vampire' it could be simply red lipstick, for 'Pirate' do it like Johnny Depp and get dozens of different brace- and necklaces.
